Are Charlie Sheen and Rebecca Black messages from God?

If I were a believer I might think that God is sending us a message and the message is named Charlie Sheen. I'm always troubled by the way North American culture loves to build stars up so far beyond any reasonable level of fame and then relish in crucifying them. Happens every single day.

Charlie was the latest until little Rebecca Black came along. I feel sorry for this kid. Yes she sucks but no more than many music stars today. It's not her fault that millions of asswipes have nothing better to do in life than download her video and spend way too much time talking about it. And the hate mail. That's just shameful. Rebecca Black's fame is a symptom of a diseased culture. It is a reflection of us as a culture and that's why we hate it so. No wonder people react so strongly. They're recoiling from the truth.

As for Charlie, if you saw his surprise walk on on Jimmy Kimmel last week you saw a very drawn, scattered and emaciated looking figure.  A reflection of North American popular culture.

The Republican Party

"There will always be people who are highly motivated by greed. Those who seek to perpetuate poverty and ignorance in order to enhance their own material wealth. Those who commit unspeakable acts in the name of god, country and righteousness. In The United States, these people are known as The Republican Party."

Today's Music Business

The music business needs a change. A diaper change.

El Bastardo!

The Pope

Reinstating holocaust deniers and condemning condom use in Africa, saying AIDS is an issue of immoral behavior. This from an organization whose past and present is stained by serial sexual abuse of children and which pays countless millions of dollars to conceal and settle, out of court, the crimes of so many of it's clergy. Shameful.
